王建民似乎愈來愈適應牛棚角色了，昨對雙城登板中繼8局下，以11球連續解決3人，最快球速維持150公里水準。儘管所屬的皇家最終仍以5比7落敗，但建仔連4場無失分已是本季最長，職司後援漸入佳境。

建仔之前最多連3場後援無失分，為4月下旬至5月初對天使、國民所創，這次他從5月中對勇士延長賽奪得救援勝後，對紅襪解決前任留下的滿壘危機，兩度遭遇雙城也都沒有失分。

值得一提的是，建仔不但連4戰無失分，甚至已連3場未被敲出安打，近3.1局投球，只讓對手靠1次四壞保送上壘。建仔自責分率持續進步，昨役賽後已降至2.70，5月迄今的自責分率更僅1.93。

3天內第2次在標靶球場登板，王建民昨役球路略為偏高，但遭遇首名打者鈴木清打成右外野飛球出局，接著以148公里的內角沉球，讓丹尼山塔納站在原地領到老K。最後對決昨已敲3安的雙城開路先鋒紐涅茲，則擊出游擊滾地球出局。

除了招牌的沉球，建仔昨天也投了曲球、滑球各1，但兩球都投得太高，沒進到好球帶。相較之下，沉球的好球率則將近8成。

皇家右投狄隆吉昨役先發4局，1局下就被紐涅茲、多西爾敲出「背靠背」全壘打。儘管皇家4局上攻下5分反超，但狄隆吉5局下再遭薩諾炮轟後退場，失掉6分含5分責失，是本季轉戰先發以來的最差成績，也吞下第2敗。

「這真的令人失望，讓自己的球隊一開始就陷入落後局面，」狄隆吉說：「我今天投得不好，而且我的失投都被他們逮個正著。」

狄隆吉本季原本擔任長中繼，自責分率2.61，昨為轉戰先發後首次挨轟，但一來就是3發，讓他擔任先發的自責分率高漲到5.65。
